Creating A New Asset On Mashoom
How to create a new asset on Mashoom's database
Contents
To create/add a new asset, you need to be logged onto Mashoom with an internet signal and be viewing the Main Menu page - you can find this using the 9 dots found at the top left of any page from wherever you are currently on Mashoom. Look under the section headed "Physical Things" and you will see a sub-header titled "Add New". Press on that and you will be taken to this:

To add your new asset you need to use the dropdown (in light blue) and select the asset's type from the list shown by highlighting it with your cursor, changing it to dark blue.
Your selection will now appear at the top of the page headed "Add a Physical Thing" and you will be asked, under the header "Fill in required information", to enter the "Unique identifier" - the Serial Number.

Once you have entered your Serial Number, you will see "Add item" appears in blue - press this and your asset is now added to Mashoom - this next page confirms it.
You can probably ignore all the other input fields, unless you need more details to be added upon creation of an asset as part of your organisation's process. If you will be completing a form against the asset, don't fill in the details here, wait until you've started a form.

This asset can now be searched for and found on Mashoom if required - see instructions for searching for an asset.
Asset Already Exists
This situation can happen when you are adding what you believe is a new asset to Mashoom - you will see the alert "Item unique field already exists".

Go to the Main Menu (use the 9 dots at the top of your screen) and within the section headed "Physical Things", press on the sub-header "View all". Type in your asset's Serial Number to the right of the search icon and you will see your asset listed below on the left with any completed or incomplete forms associated with it.

This shows you the asset was already on Mashoom.
