Jobs And Quotes

How jobs can appear on quotes when the Quote module is enabled

Contents

If your team uses both the Jobs module and the Quote module, a job can also be connected to a quote. This is useful when quoted work needs to stay tied to the operational work that follows it.

Adding a Job to a Quote

When the Quote module is enabled, a quote line can be linked to a job. This lets the quote refer directly to the job record rather than only using free text.

This is especially useful when:

  • quoted work should connect to an existing job
  • the team wants the quote and the job to stay clearly related
  • users need to move easily from the commercial view into the operational record

Showing Job Information on Quotes

Admins can also choose which job details should be shown on quotes. This gives you control over how much job information is visible in quote outputs.

For example, you may want some job fields to appear for clarity while keeping more internal job details visible only inside the job itself.

When This Page Applies

This guide only applies if the Quote module is enabled for your team. If your team does not use Quotes, you can ignore this page and continue using Jobs on its own.

Even without Quotes, jobs still work fully as standalone records for planning, tracking, status control, linked records, activity and scheduled tasks.
